Buying a Subaru ‘could be a safe choice’ | Motoring News | Honest John

Drivers who prioritise safety when buying a car may want to consider paying a visit to their local Subaru dealership when they trade in their current vehicle.

The manufacturer’s motors have been highlighted as offering occupants excellent levels of protection.

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in America, the company’s vehicles outperformed those made by the likes of Ford, Honda, Audi, Volkswagen and Volvo in its stringent tests.

Cars were assessed for how they performed in frontal, rollover, rear and side crashes.

Subaru was the only firm to receive a Top Safety Pick honour for every model entered.

President of the institute Adrian Lund explained: "Cars and SUVs that win Top Safety Pick are designs that go far beyond minimum federal safety standards."

He added drivers could use the results of the tests to help them choose vehicles that offer excellent levels of protection.

In other news, Subaru’s all-new Outback, which is available in UK showrooms now, was recently named Sport Utility of the Year by the American magazine Motor Trend.
