One family will not have to buy a new car to accommodate their growing brood after Kia gave them a Carens hot off the production line.
The manufacturer did so after hearing about how Sam Smyth went into labour earlier this month and was taken to hospital in her mum’s existing Kia Carens.
But on the way there, the little one decided not to wait any longer and was born on the backseat.
To celebrate, her parents named her Kia – and the carmaker decided to help them mark the arrival too, by presenting them with a seven-seat 2.0 CRDi Carens.
"We would like to welcome Kia to the Kia family and wish her a wonderful life," spokesperson Michael Cole said, adding that the model is particularly useful for families.
However, those who are looking to buy a new Kia of their own might want to check out some of the special editions available this month.
These include the Graphite Picanto and Graphite Rio, which are now in showrooms. Each incorporates various aesthetic and performance-based features different from the standard model.
