The introduction of the first four-cylinder engine into the A5 range has been announced by car manufacturer Audi.
Six-speed transmission will also be included with the Audi A5 1.8 TFSI, helping drivers achieve 62 mph in 8.4 seconds from standing.
In addition, speedier motorists may be tempted to see the vehicle at its fastest – 140 mph – when stocks are delivered to dealerships around the UK.
According to the firm, the car is a natural progression.
It said: "The advanced, directly injected successor to the familiar 1.8-litre Turbo petrol unit that has powered A3, A4, A6 and TT models in the past creates the A5 1.8 TFSI, which is available to order now."
Meanwhile, Audi has announced that its sponsorship of Premier League champions Manchester United allows for perks for its drivers.
People in Audi cars can park at Old Trafford for free on matchdays, eliminating the need for tram, train or bus journeys.
