BCA’s Classic Sale on Monday doesn’t have a lot of really old cars. But it’s an excellent event to buy a late ‘nostalgia’ classic.
The star of the show is this 1973 MGB GT ‘Sebring’, a recreation of a development car for the good looking MGB GTS that finished 10th in the 1968 Sebring race driven by Paddy Hopkirk and Andrew Hedges. This one has a 135bhp 1,995cc Oselli B Series engine.
Other opportunities include a 1990 TVR S2 2.9, estimated at just £5,250 – £5,750; a 1973 Nissan 240Z fitted with 5.7 Chevy V8 estimates at a mere £2,400 – £2,800; a 1961 Alfa Giulietta SS 1300, estimated at £4,000 – £5,000; a vast 1964 Oldsmobile 98 convertible, estimated at £6,000 – £6,750.
There are five Rolls Royces among the provisional entries, from a 1957 Silver Cloud to a 1988 Silver Spur; an almost unused Jensen bodied 1952 Austin A40 Sports with just 4,000 miles; a possibly unique 47,000 mile 1982 Mini 95 pick-up and, for lovers of Americana, a 1937 LaSalle V8 Series 50 Sedan and a 1947 Packard Clipper Six sedan.
Sale starts at 1.00pm, with viewing Monday morning, and the usual part exchange and fleet sales in Halls 2 and 3.
